Scanning through the core of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

FFVII: Crisis Core scan from V-JumpAfter its playable demo during the recent Jump Festa in Japan, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is getting more and more fans (both old and new FF-fans alike) ecstatic. The demo has two playable modes, one involving an invasion of Wutai – that’s Yuffie’s hometown – and another that involves a battle with Ifrit.

Speaking of combat, this Square Enix title is an action-RPG and will be far different from the turn-based battles of the original FFVII. Kind of like a real-time active-time sort of deal involving using up Action Points and a random Slot system.

While this scan is in Japanese, you don’t need to understand the text just to get all excited. It’s a scan from “V-Jump” and has some stills of cinematics (which we’ve seen before) and a couple of new gameplay screenshots thrown in… curiouser and curiouser…

The Japanese release this Spring isn’t too far off, but what most of us wonder is when it’ll come over to our side of the world. Don’t worry, we’ll get more info on this soon enough. Keep the materia in your pocket and watch this space!
