SCEA: Job openings for God of War — for PS3?

Kratos - Image 1Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is hiring for God of War for the PlayStation 3 console? This bit of speculation comes to mind after we picked up on a recently released Job Postings announcements SCEA has in circulation, which announced vacancies for the Senior Technical Artist, and Senior Designer/Combat roles.

Going into details on the Technical Artists, the role expected of them as something of a middle-man for the arts and technical departments. Their job is to ensure that the game’s CG assets can be integrated into the game engine without sacrificing artistic integrity.

The Senior Designer/Combat, on the other hand, is responsible for (among other things) character and boss design, environmental character impact, special effects, sound effects, and AI gameplay layout. These guys are basically in charge of ensuring the combat aspect of God of War moves properly.

That’s all the info we’ve picked up for this bit of speculation. Given that the PSP’s own God of War: Chains of Olympus is already slated for release this (late) 2007, it will seem untimely if these key posts up for grabs are for that game just now. That leaves God of War III for the PS3, which itself has yet to be confirmed. Keep in touch in case we pick up solid information regarding this matter.
