Scogger v0.2 out for DS and PSP
It’s true: frogs will never go stale in the realm of casual gaming. Look at Frogger, for instance. That why we’re glad that homebrew developer Scognito and Kenney were able to whip up Scogger, a nice homebrew puzzle game with lots of frog. Do check out more details in the full article.

Frogs will never go stale in the realm of casual gaming (just look at Frogger), and we’re glad that homebrew developer Scognito (in collaboration with Kenney, who came up with the game’s DS graphics) ‘brewed up a simplistic, yet fun game, Scogger. So what’s Scogger, you ask? All you need to do to have some fun is to make the frog jump all over the tree trunks.
The premise sounds simple – there isn’t even any jump distance limit – but here’s the catch: you only have to make the frog jump over all the tree trunks to clear the game, but you can’t make the frog jump backwards, or go back one step. So you have to make sure your path will cover all trunks only once. Quite challenging, really.
There’s also something special in this game. Just perform the Ye Olde “Konami trick,” and you’ll be rewarded with a small something. Sounds fun, eh? What’s even better is that this game is available for both the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, leaving no current handheld owner out.
In case you were able to catch the previous release of Scogger, here’s a list of features and functions that have changed since the last version:
- Compiled with latest libnds/palib to date
- Graphics improvements
- Added new input control (motion) – Toggle with R trigger
- New sounds and background music – Toggle with L trigger
So what are you waiting for? Do check out the game for yourself, and have some good old classic fun.
