Seaman on DS or Wii?
Seaman, if you recall, has been brought to the limelight a few years back in the PS2, but was released only in Japan. Vivarium launched a sequel, also on the PS2. Although the interface hasn’t changed much, the evolution from Seaman to Seaman 2 has enabled the bizarre pet/human fish to distinguish full sentences instead of just single words.
The excitement that Sega Dreamcast‘s Seaman has generated is perhaps due to the fact that the game relies on sophisticated voice-recognition. Seaman is a unique kind of pet video game that has quite a nice storyline and a number of quirks to it (such as Seaman posing and answering trivia questions).
We’ve been hearing rumors that Sega has opened up the website for the Seaman game, and the company will announce the real score behind the reopening by the end of the week. We’ve also received reports that there’s a possibility for a platform shift from the PS2 to Nintendo DS or Wii or both. However, since nothing has been confirmed, let’s just cross our fingers and look forward to more updates about this Sega Dreamcast hit in the next few days.
