Second UT3 developer walkthrough coming your way

If you thought the first developer walkthrough video showed off the best of Unreal Tournament III (Mac, PlayStation 3, Windows PC on DVD, Xbox 360), this second would probably numb your neurons. Epic Games has definitely improved a lot of aspects in Unreal Tournament 2004‘s Conquest mode with UT3‘s two-in-one Warfare mode.

Aside from showing off the helpful speed of the Hoverboard, Epic pulled a few tricks here and there (reminiscent of freeware G-Sector by Freeform Interactive, PC), which includes a great “bail out” feature when exiting vehicles to preserve momentum. Fragging an opponent with a three-rocket spread while performing a twisted flip is more than just “Wicked Sick.” It’s just plain awesome.

Other than that though, there’s plenty to cheer for in Unreal Tournament 3‘s Warfare capture mechanics, especially actual shields to knock off before taking out the enemy nodes and core. And that little glowing ball, dubbed the Orb, heightens players’ need to plan and consolidate forces to maximize their offensive and defensive abilities. But heck, watch the video for more juicy bits and be amazed.
