Secret level, future possibilities for PixelJunk Monsters Encore, more
To celebrate the North American release date of the expansion pack PixelJunk Monsters Encore today, the PlayStation Blog followed up on their interview with creator Dylan Cuthbert a few days back. This time around, we get a glimpse on what to expect in the future, a hint for a secret level and more. Make the jump.
To highlight the release of the expansion pack PixelJunk Monsters Encore for the North American PlayStation Network today (priced at US$ 5.99), the PlayStation Blog continued its in-depth interview with creator Q-Games’ Dylan Cuthbert from a few days back – but not before telling us that a secret area can be found between Tiki and Toki islands when you finish the game.
Asked about what kind of games Cuthbert wished he had made, the dev of the noted puzzle game said he wanted to create a “character-based, side-action shooting game with platformer elements.” Since Series 1 of PixelJunk Monsters have been set already, the idea could come for Series 2. But this is something to watch out for.
And if you find yourself immersed in PixelJunk Monsters Encore over the next couple of days, you’ll realize that rainbows are a big part of its gameplay. Now, is it possible to get rainbows on everything? Cuthbert mentions it may take a lot of skill, but what the heck, he created the game, so he can. His wife can do so, so maybe you can too.
On a lighter note, Cuthbert was asked who he wants to play PixelJunk Monsters Encore with in co-op play. The dev tells us it’s the Queen of England since “Kings and Queens of the world don’t get to wage war anymore.” A good outlet, perhaps?
