Apparently the Yakuza 3 Sega is releasing in the West a couple of weeks from now isn’t exactly the same Yakuza 3 Japan got. The company has revealed that time constraints have forced them to cut some of the content from the game’s Western release.

Gone are the the Hostess Clubs and the Japanese History trivia sections. These cuts reportedly won’t affect the story and were made just so gamers screaming desperately for a localized Yakuza 3 can finally enjoy the game in English:

Ultimately, the choice that had to be made was either no Yakuza 3 in the west, or a version of the game that was almost exactly the same, but with a little less trivia. That said, our teams also understand that many of you guys love games like Yakuza because of that experience, and rest assured that we’ll continue fighting on your behalf to make sure that going forward, we can provide as close to the full experience as possible – no matter how foreign.

Yakuza 3 comes out March 9 in the US and March 12 in Europe, exclusively on the PS3. Those who want to try the game out can download a demo from the PlayStation Store.
