Gamescom is about to kick off next month, and the participants are all pumped and almost ready to show off their wares. But what’s this? Sega won’t be joining in on the fun?
“Despite huge success on the SEGA GamesCom 2009 and the Europe-wide importance of the Cologne exhibition SEGA has decided not to be represented this year [in the event],” said Sega.
They did say, however, that this does not mean that their absence from this year’s event is indicative of their participation in the future ones. It’sjust that at this point, their decision is “purely a commercial decision.” Without explaining what this commercial reason is, “GamesCom remains for us remains the most important European industry event.”
Too bad for Sega European fans as people were expecting them to bring over huge titles like Sonic 4, Vanquish, Valkyria Chronicles II, Shogun 2: Total War and more.
