Sega: Virtua Fighter 5 still coming out this summer

Things about Virtua Fighter 5 for the Xbox 360 that we aren’t sure about yet, but we hope are included: Version C arcade changes, optional analogue control, multiplayer over LIVE, and better AI. Things about the Xbox 360 version of VF5 that we can be sure about: Sega says that it’s still set to be released this summer.

Eurogamer notes that this declaration from Sega is due to various retailers changing their release dates for the game, even pushing the date back to as late as October. This of course, has confused some fans. A little dose of certainty (a reassurance from Sega of a summer release) is always a good way to calm eager fans.

With this much focus on release dates, we have to note that IGN still gives a July 17, 2007 North American release, and an August 31 2007 European release date for Sega’s Virtua Fighter 5. Trustworthy dates? Well, Sega did only say “summer,” however these dates still seem apt.

Dates aside, the Xbox 360 version better have LIVE multiplayer functions. Really, it should.
