Sentinel Studios: Former videogame execs who went indie
Having 50 years of combined industry experience under the umbrella of a brand spankin’ new independent game development studio is no joke. That’s what Sentinel Studios is bringing into the videogame industry with its recent inception. At the helm of the five-man console game development team sit Paul Potera, best known for his leadership role with Ubisoft-owned Sinister Games, and Marc Racine, former co-owner of Vicious Cycle Software (who came up with the PSP game Dead Head Fred).
Quite a team-up, eh? Vicious and Sinister. Anyway, these two former execs have shipped more than 30 SKUs on different platforms including the PS2, Nintendo DS, GBA, and the PC over the past year, and now they’re looking forward to bringing all new titles to the next-generation console and handheld gaming market.
“The value that Marc and I bring to publishers is a deep knowledge of game production as well as strong ties with international partners,” said Paul Potera, co-founder of Sentinel Studios. He adds,
Producing over two-dozen titles within challenging development constraints during the past year compelled us to identify the market segment we deem most attractive. Now we will pursue it aggressively.
With this kind of experience at the helm, Sentinel Studios looks poised to make a huge splash on the videogame market. Since the company is still in its infancy, there’s no word yet on what projects they’ll be tackling. Rest assured, we’ll be keeping an eye on this so check back for updates.
