Several microphone-compatible Wii games and channel coming up?

High School Musical - Image 1Before the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2007 in San Fran concludes, Nintendo Company Ltd.’s Shigeru Miyamoto is expected to give out a keynote speech. Now, gaming site Rumor Reporter is saying that Miyamoto will be leaving the conference without revealing some of Nintendo’s bigger guns for 2007.

Accordingly, several insider sources told Rumor Reporter that aside from Disney‘s High School Musical, a whole lot of other video games that are compatible with the much-talked about microphone peripheral will be released in the future. The site went on and mentioned that the yet-to-be released peripheral was shown to a select few.

To make things more interesting, it was also reported that that a new channel will be opened for the Wii, centering on the microphone’s capabilities. We really have no idea how this one would work IF this is true. Could it be a karaoke-type sing-your-heart-out channel?

Rumor Reporter is unable to find proof concerning any of these matters. The only “concrete” thing it was able to provide was a quote from an “anonymous developer” saying, “Nintendo has been working closely with many teams as they plan to bring voice-over to their ‘touch’ based system.”
