LOTRO: Shadows of Angmar

Middle-earth seems to be getting some serious real estate. It has just gotten a deal with leading Japanese game distributor SAKURA Internet last September, and now it has set its eyes on the Chinese market to distribute Turbine’s The Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar.

Turbine, Inc. and CDC Games today announced a distribution agreement for J.R.R Tolkien classic, with Turbine working closely with its Asian counterpart to localize the game for the thriving Chinese market. Jeffrey Anderson, president and CEO of Turbine, Inc., has unabashedly expressed his high hopes for the game. “Games is a proven leader in the online gaming market and we are very excited about working with them to bring The Lord of the Rings Online into China. Games’ experience in operating successful titles coupled with the massive growth of the Chinese market represent an outstanding opportunity for this title.

Dr. Xiaowei Chen, CEO of CDC Games, stressed that the reason that they are taking on LOTRO: Shadows of Angmar isn’t just because it represents a major global franchise, but also because Turbine has developed a truly beautiful and engaging game. That is why he has much confidence that gamers will have the best online gaming experience they’ve ever had.
