Short films trilogy to be released this holiday for Assassin’s Creed II
This holiday, you will be seeing another game-inspired movie come out, but this time, not as a full-length feature, but rather as a short film series. The game that inspired the series: Assassin’s Creed II: Lineage (PS3, Xbox 360, PC). Yep, Ezio’s yet to make his rounds in the consoles, and already, he’s got his eyes set on Hollywood. This boy sure wastes no time dealing with business.

The series will be a trilogy, focusing mainly on the story of Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, our hero’s daddy. They will be a prelude to Ezio’s own storyline later on in Assassin’s Creed II, so it will serve as the perfect jump-off point to introduce the game sequel’s storyline and characters.
Yannis Mallat of Ubisoft has said that more will be revealed at this week’s Comic-Con panel.
Ubisoft has detailed its vision for convergence over the past two years. Now at Comic-Con we are exclusively revealing one of the first building blocks to this strategy with Assassins’ Creed II: Lineage. We’ll be discussing the links between the game and the short film series with some of the key players of the project. We are thrilled to be able to share the results of our efforts with the Comic-Con audience.
No word was given to clarify how the short film series’ storyline will fit with the PSP title of the franchise, Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines.
