Short survey says 14 out of 22 gamers prefer PS3 over Wii
At this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Kotaku’s correspondent decided to do a short poll among attendees as to which console they would prefer once the Wii and the PS3 becomes available in a couple of months. The results? Playstation 3 comes up with 14, while 8 say that they would buy the Wii.
Out of all the people who were polled, one repeating theme among those who picked the Wii was that they would buy Nintendo’s console because it is cheaper than the PS3. Some have even hinted that if they had the means, they would rather get Sony‘s console. Meanwhile, over at the PS3 camp, most respondents seem to have already made up their minds long ago as they quickly point out their preference.
Of course, this mini-survey is inconclusive as preferences vary from country to country, and from culture to culture. One also has to take into account such things as the average cost of living as well as the purchasing power of the citizens where a console will be released, as these will also pretty much determine how these two pieces of hardware would fare once they are released to the international masses.
