Shoryuuken! Street Fighter IV ships 2 million copies worldwide

Street Fighter IV (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) is only a week old in stores, but that didn’t stop the latest Street Fighter title from selling like mad. Capcom was very proud to announce that they’ve shipped 2 million copies of Street Fighter IV.

Comes to a surprise? I don’t think so. Capcom didn’t hold back at all with publicity. In-line with its Street Fighter 20th Anniversary project came arcade machines, the console games, plus various events such as the Street Fighter IV National Tournament and Street Fighter IV Fight Club.

Under its “Single Content, Multiple Usage” strategy, Capcom will release the Hollywood film “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” starring the lovely Kristin Kreuk. The movie was set in motion to help revitalize and revive the Street Fighter brand by inviting new fans and calling upon the old ones.
