Should Sony’s Phil Harrison Zip It?
Sony Exec and PS3 Pusher Phil Harrison has a gift for saying things that rival Hideo Kojima’s Kojima-isms. The main difference is that Kojima’s statements are quirky and entertaining. Harrison-isms, on the other hand, have been described as a fool’s blabbering and the more he speaks the more he stuffs “his foot farther and farther back in his mouth!”
A certain Richard, who is on the verge of launching a “Zip It, Phil Harrison” campaign, listed some of the Sony executive’s controversial statements on Aeropause. From Phil’s lips to your eyes. You decide if Phil Harrison needs a gag order.
“PlayStation 3 is the only format that has 1080-progressive, which is the true definition of HD.”
(So I guess all those HDTVÂ’s out there are big fat liars – Richard)
“The true definition of HD is the three elements of the HD value chain – the display, the content and the hardware to play back that content, and PlayStation and Sony is the only organization that has all three bits of the value chain together.”
“Right now there are more than 100 Blu-ray movies available today”
(Hey Phil, I just checked and there is less then 30 – Richard)
“The PlayStation 3 is a computer. We do not need the PC.”
“I don’t think we are arrogant.”
