Showing its guts – PS3 “Teardown” by Semiconductor Insights

How would the PS3 look on the inside? What makes it tick? Semiconductor Insights, a company that analyzes the technical aspects of electronic and integrated systems, certainly took these questions seriously.

What did they do? Semiconductor Insights basically did a “Teardown” on a PS3. They took it apart – very carefully, mind you – and pointed out some of the chips that make the PS3 tick. A voice over gives a walkthrough of the teardown while a tech systematically dismantles it. Kids, don’t try this at home (though we seriously doubt anybody else would even attempt to do this to their PS3).
