Shut ’em up with XRI Cross Realm Ignore v1.2

Ignore

As much as the need to communicate is a very big factor in WoW, sometimes, the need to shut people up is more important. You really can’t help it if some people spam the BG channel. It’s understandable that flame wars on your BGs really happen. And no one blames you if you just want to play your game in peace.

ChaosInc helps us in that area. The XRI Cross Realm Ignore v1.2 allows you to filter out people who do nothing but flame, and spam, and troll like no tomorrow. As the name of the mod indicates, this allows you to ignore people and not receive messages from them. The programmer warns us though: his mod is dependent on the names of users. If it so happens that two people share the same name (but are from different realms), both of them will still be ignored.

Commands:

  • help (displays help menu)
  • add <name> (adds <name> to be ignored)
  • remove <name> (removes <name> from ignored list)
  • list (displays list of ignored people)
  • clear (clears the ignore list)
  • verbose (toggle verbose mode)

Changelog:

  • no longer case sensitive
  • added a filter so you cannot add the same name twice
  • cleaned up some coding

UPDATE: XRI’s now v1.4. ChaosInc edited an author argument to resolve a bug that had ignored messages still coming in. He says that v1.4 should now work like the initial release of XRI. The only bug left here is that events are still firing twice; he hasn’t been able to ID the problem yet.

Other changes:

  • removed channel filtering due to firing off ALL channels (including outside BGs) and eating up a ton of memory. whisper support is still present
  • added debug mode
  • added /xri status
  • cleaned up some more code
