SingStar patched, PS3 disc swapping now supported
SCEE‘s PS3 SingStar title has just been given a patch that lets players swap out discs to access tracks found on other PS3 SingStar titles. Good news for gamers in Europe, but it’s kind of useless for U.S. gamers at this point since only one SingStar title is out in the U.S. right now. More details after the jump.
Here’s some good news for the karaoke-loving gamers out there. SCEE‘s PS3 SingStar title has just been given a patch that lets players swap out discs to access tracks found on other SingStar titles.
So far, PS3 discs are the only ones that can be swapped. This makes the whole patch moot for U.S. SingStar owners at this point, since there’s only one SingStar PS3 title out in the U.S. right now. Two other titles are slated for release this year, though: SingStar Vol. 2 in October and SingStar ABBA in Winter.
A PS2-compatible patch may come later, but it’s still hazy since not all PS3s are backwards compatible with PS2 discs. It would sure be great for PS3 owners to have access to the considerable library of PS2 SingStar games, though.
