SKATE gameplay video
Here’s a sneak peek at the highly-anticipated title that promises to out-grind, out-ollie and out-skate its competitors. And from what we see, it’s shaping up to be very impressive in terms of graphics and gameplay. We get you this skinny of this seven-minute gameplay video of Electronic Arts‘ SKATE for the Xbox 360.
As you can see, the graphics are looking very smooth and very realistic. The player character moves quite fluidly and very naturally, giving you a sense of actually being there and doing the skating yourself. One thing that’s noticeable at the very beginning is the fact that your character doesn’t get up when he wipes out – he “respawns” onto the same spot he last crashed into.
This is a minor kink, all in all, but for a game so focused on realism, a simple animation of the character getting up and dusting himself off doesn’t seem too far-fetched, isn’t it? The respawning thing is a bit dodgy and jarring, if yours truly does say so himself. But let’s remember, though, that this is the Beta version of the game, so it’s a bit premature to start judging the title now. Let’s hope all these issues get worked out by the time the final build gets churned out – we know we’ll be eagerly waiting for its release.
Enough spoilers from us, however. Enjoy the video!
