Sneak peek at Japan’s January VC line-up
Some of you guys might still be high on a plumber’s nostalgic adventure with some power-up ‘shrooms and magic pipes in the recent release of Super Mario Bros. on the VC. While those recently released VC games can surely tide us over until next year (hey, “next year” isn’t that far away, after all!), why not take a look around the corner and see what Japan‘s got in store?
Now, this January line-up (prices range from US$ 5 to 8) is only slated for Japan, and some of these titles may or may not wash over to our virtual shores. You might find it strange also that some of the titles below (like Alien Crush) have already been released in North America, so maybe the old “why does Japan always get stuff first before we do?” complaint won’t apply this time around.
Mario Kart 64 (N64)
Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu (SNES)
Ice Climber (NES)
Ikki (NES)
Kid Icarus (NES)
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES)
Bonanza Bros (Genesis)
Gain Ground (Genesis)
Alien Crush (TurboGrafx-16)
Motoraeder (TurboGrafx-16)
R-Type II (TurboGrafx-16)
Soldier Blade (TurboGrafx-16)
I could name at least five titles in that list that’s well worth dishing out some Wii cash for. Start crossing your fingers, people! It looks like the new year would usher in a big bang.
