SNES9x v0.02y4, the SNES Emulator for the PSP Released

68_1

“Y” has just released the latest update to the SNES emulator for the PSP, Snes9x v0.02y4.

What the author has done this time is attempted to enable transparency effects (that the SNES hardware did). Of course, this results in a heavy speed cut, so it’s a “proof-of-concept” now. You can enable and disable the transparency in the menu, etc. Currently, if you disable transparency and sound you can play a game like super Mario World with frame skip 2 at about 30fps. Final Fantasy 2 produces similar results.
