Some Lumines fun with Boxy II v0.7

The object of this game is to eliminate as many blocks as possible. Blocks of four fall down and you can either rotate them clockwise or counter-clockwise before they hit the ground. Whenever a whole block consists of just one color, the sweep line will destroy them and points will be awarded to you. The game becomes faster and harder as you progress.

Did we just describe the gameplay for Lumines? Well, not really because you see, it’s actually for the homebrew game Boxy II from developer Ghoti. It is currently on v0.7 and this is actually the ninth release since it was created. The many changes and fixes between v0.6.6 and the current one are as follows:

Added:

  • In game menu (sound off/on) (music off/on) (exit game)
  • Change in game over screen.
  • Change in some themes the pause screen

Fixes:

  • Time display now correct (00:00)
  • Select quit during game deleted

Based from our experience, it feels like so much time and effort were spent creating this homebrew so be sure to give it a try. Also, don’t forget to give your shout-outs to Ghoti in the comments section below.
