Some thoughts on Driver: Parallel Lines’ next-gen appearance

Parallel Lines - Image 1We’d like to go on a limb on this one and tell you how it is from our own point of view. Ubisoft recently officially announced Cosmic Family for the Wii. This space adventure game is believed to somehow revolve around completing 15 types of early-learning mini games as well as teach kids some basic skills.

Now, another game called Driver: Parallel Lines has also been stirring things up lately. According to online site CVG, Ubisoft remains tight-lipped regarding the existence of this game. They added that they’ve been contacting the company for confirmation but were unable to do so.On our part, we believe we don’t have to do that. Because while there are indeed rumors circulating about the game, it was actually part of the list Cosmic Family was in released at the start of this year.

If you’re still weighing your options about its existence, it would be remembered that back in July 2006, Ubisoft itself announced that it has acquired the Driver franchise from Atari in a € 19 million deal (roughly around US$ 24.6 million). Logically, you won’t be acquiring something just because you can, right? In businesses such as these, you get franchises because you want them to work in your favor.

Lastly, while it is appearing on Xbox 360 as well, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto has always been a PlayStation baby.( And if we may add, X360 already has the highly successful Saints Row). We’re not saying that Driver: Parallel Lines will be a Wii exclusive. What we’re saying is that a new version exists and it’s headed to next-gen systems. So rejoice sandbox enthusiasts!
