Sony confirms Europe’s PS3 Starter Pack…for France
The good news: Sony has announced that the rumored PlayStation 3 Starter Pack for Europe is very real. The company further confirmed that the Starter Pack is indeed going to carry both Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword, and SCE Studios Liverpool’s Formula One Championship Edition games.
The bad news: For the moment, this package will only be available in France. Here reads a statement from Sony’s PR guy regarding the news:
The F1 and Heavenly Sword pack is only being introduced in France for the time being, and will be available from the launch of Heavenly Sword in France on 19th September.
If recent details remain unchanged, the pack will also carry a 60 GB PS3, two SIXAXIS controllers, and will cost 599 Euro (US$ 820). The Sony spokesman also stated that “The choice of which titles to include in the Starter Pack, and the freedom to change the titles is up to the individual markets based on their unique market conditions.”
Could this mean we’ll be seeing region-specific Starter Packs in the near future? Sounds like it, but as always, we’ll keep you posted in case Sony clarifies this matter in the near future. Drop by in case we receive updates.
