It’s not exactly the PlayStation Phone (or PSP phone) that’s been speculated and talked about for some time now, but Sony Ericsson is apparently taking steps towards adding some interaction between their products and Sony’s PlayStation 3 console.

According to Reuters, a new phone called the Aino will allow users to manage media stored on their PS3s. It’s like Remote Play for a phone instead of the PSP. Those in Europe can also use it to enjoy the PlayTV service.

There are limitations, though, as the Aino can’t access HD video or play any games on the PS3. While the latter isn’t surprising, the former could be remedied by further iterations of this “PlayStation phone”.

The Aino is expected to become available in the fourth quarter. Here’s a video. The PS3 remote demo starts at the 1:08 mark.
