Sony has announced that it is expanding its Official License Program (OLP) to peripheral manufacturers in Japan, Asia, North America and Europe/ PAL territories.
This program allows peripheral and accessory makers to access technical documents needed to create licensed products for the PS2, PS3 and PSP consoles. The PSP Go will be covered eventually as well.
Once these peripherals meet the “qualifying SCE standards and requirements” they’ll be slapped with an OLP logo. The official OLP site doesn’t list down these requirements, but let’s just hope that most of what comes out of this program are actually useful.
