Here’s something to pique your curiosity. Sony has gone and filed a US trademark for something called “Qriosity.” In keeping with the strange spellings and pronunciations of the Xross Media Bar and Qore, that’s pronounced “curiosity.” They’ve also started to send out feelers to gauge gamer reaction on possible premium PSN services.

First, the trademark. Spotted by gaming blog Siliconera, the Qriosity trademark was actually filed by Sony, not Sony Computer Entertainment. The interesting part is that it covers “portable gaming machines” and “game services provided on-line from a computer network.”

The survey, on the other hand, outlines some potential premium services and their equivalent prices. These include full hour game trials, free access to PSOne Classics, and cross-game voice chat. Sounds like these slot in rather nicely into that “game services provided on-line” part of the Qriosity trademark. If that cross-game voice chat feature ends up being subscriber-only Sony may be facing the wrath of those who have eagerly waited for it, though.

The survey mentions four possible payment plans — three of which add up to US$ 69.99 a year or US$ 9.99 a month and one running $4.99 a month and $29.99 a year. You can find more about it at the Kotaku source link below.
