Sony Gave Developer Only 10 Days To Design Warhawk’s Controls

Apparently, in a roundtable developer session in the Sony E3 booth that aims to promote the shooter game, Warhawk, its developer, Incognito, said that they were only able to implement the much-talked and hyped-about motion sensor controls into the game after getting the development controllers a week and a half ago. We wonder if they were able to get any shut-eye in that 10 days of stressful work; that’s torture.

The Incognito development team was already expecting something surprising from Sony with the new controller, and it came up with design ideas over a long period of time, but it was only in the past 10 days or so that it was able to actually physically implement the idea and get the game running with the new control scheme.

The roundtable session also talked about Warhawk, the game and not just its controllers. Although the game follows the original Warhawk on PS1, the game also has its difference from the original. In this one, players will be able to get out of their airships and tackle missions on-foot and in land-based vehicles such as tanks; however, the motion sensor controls will not work during on-ground gameplay, but the people behind Warhawk are working on it.
 
For the single-player campaign, players will go through some air missions and some ground missions, as the developers stated it was a struggle to balance missions to allow players to play either way.

As for the release date, that is yet to be announced. But we suspect that it will hit stores soon since this one started out as a possible game for PS2 roughly 2 years ago and now it is shifting to the PS3, its developers have already been given with ample time to develop and improve it. So let’s just wait and see about that.
