Sony: Japan’s PS3s now one million strong
This comes as big news over from Japan. Sony has just announced today that they have now breached the one million unit mark in Japan – take note this does not cover other countries in Asia.
In relation to this, they also announced that combined with their recent sales reports North America, the stacks up the launch total to over two million units. They still have yet to comment on how many of their 20 and 60 GB models were in the numbers – though they hint the latter was receiving better sales.
With regards to related software, they further noted that they shipped a total of 5,000,000 game software across both territories – with Resistance bagging the highest sales.
And lastly, announcements were also made on the PlayStation network. It was recorded that the Net community was standing at 500,000 members since launch day, with 300,000 having already downloaded the Gran Turismo HD Concept demo.
