Sony, Microsoft add own statistics to NPD results

Following the November NPD Group results, Sony has released their own set of statistics for the PlayStation Network while Microsoft also gave additional info and comments for the November numbers.

According to Sony, 3 million have registered on the PlayStation Network ever since it launched – 1.8 million of them from the US alone. In addition, over 60 million pieces of content have been downloaded from the network.

Sony also comments on the recent PSN price promotion for their games Calling all Cars, Everyday Shooter, flOw, and Pixel Junk Racers, saying that it resulted in a 920% increase in total downloads.

Microsoft, on the other hand, pointed out that the Xbox 360 generated more third-party US revenue for November than the PlayStation 3 and and the Wii combined. The Xbox 360 raked in US$ 367 million, the PS3 took in US$ 129 million and the Wii got US$ 203 million.

Microsoft also added that they have an attach rate of 6.9 games sold per console for the Xbox 360, breaking the games attach record. Also, they mentioned that they have 84 titles with a Metacritic review score of 80 or higher, while the PS3 only got 39 games, and the Wii got 12 titles.
