Sony not responsible if your PS3 bricks due to a Sony download?

Note the question mark in the title. See that big question mark? Good.  Just checking if you’re reading.

Despite the noticeable leanings of GameFAQs forums poster Masoku towards a next-gen console made by Microsoft – something that causes this bit of info to be doubtful, the issue is interesting/amusing/alarming (well not really alarming) enough that some of us here think it’s worth nothing.

Okay, here’s the pertinent quote from “Mazoku” over at the GameFAQs forums.

Also, something I forgot to mention in my initial impressions was that in the main legal agreement (which takes about a minute to scroll through) it states that if your system breaks from a Sony-created download or update that they are NOT responsible.

If you think that this is more BS from an anti-Sony fan boy, we strongly advise that you check the VIA link that we have below so you can see how the forum thread went for yourselves. As “worrying” as this may be to some, truth is we’re going to have to probably wait for official word from Sony about this, you all know how complicated legal interpretations can turn out to be.

If this proves to be true, then boo for Sony, as they should be responsible for things floating around on their network. If this turns out to be bogus, well you all at least know where to point now… point and then laugh.
