Sony: PS3 Christmas line up never been stronger
UK managing Director Ray Maguire claims that the PS3 has never been stronger. He compares the PlayStation’s Christmas line up against that of the closest competition and expresses optimism that the PlayStation 3 will have its best year yet with five solid titles spearheading the effort.
No holiday blues for SCEUK“>SCEUK managing Director Ray Maguire. During the Games 3.0 conference in London, he proudly claimed that the PS3 “has never been in a stronger position.” Considering the rather bare year 2007 was for the PlayStation, that’s not really saying much, imho.
Still, with titles like Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet, Maguire’s statement is not an empty one.
He explained his feelings on the subject, comparing PlayStation’s contenders for the holidays versus Xbox’s:
This is the first year for me that I can sit back and think, ‘yeah we’ve got five super strong titles’. Some of them ground breaking by creating almost a new genre and the others starting to really use the strength of the Cell chip and the graphics. When I look at LittleBigPlanet, when I look at Resistance, when I look at MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, and then I look at things like Abba on SingStar, before we even get into Killzone next year, I think we’ve got a line-up really to be proud of.
PlayStation 3 will have it’s work cut out for it, though: Fable 2 is already out and Gears of War 2 is just around the corner. Gonna be hard to uproot those especially with the Xbox 360 price cuts looking so good.
