Sony releases official PSP Firmware 4.00
So soon? Apparently while Sony gave the PlayStation 3 a little peppering up, they were also prepping to release the next major update to the PlayStation Portable. What we know right now is that the PSP can be updated to official firmware version 4.00 no matter what your region, and while you do so, check out what else we know at the full story.
Sony ushered in the next update to the PlayStation Portable, and if you haven’t already checked, you’d find that you’ve been prompted to update to the spanking brand new PSP firmware 4.00. Now while it’s a major step up in revision number, the update seems a little too conservative.
Aside from getting a new Internet search feature, media buffs on the PSP will also get the option of slowing down or speeding up playback of movies. According to the official changelog, you’ll be able to do so by using the up and down buttons on the D-pad.
That’s about it for now. We’re still updating our own handhelds, so we haven’t tested these features out yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
