Sony Reveals E3 Lineup for PS2 and PSP
Sony has revealed its E3 lineup for the PS2 and PSP. It did not include any titles for the PS3. They likely want to keep that under wraps until the press conference on Monday.
Gangs of London – Fall 2006
By the developers of The Getaway, comes Gangs of London. It will be a gang-based game much like Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories featuring over 60 missions and a dynamic storyline set in London. Features will include Story Mode, Gang Battle, Free Roaming, London Pub Games, and a game sharing mode which will allow you to play multiplayer with only one UMD, much like the multiplayer games on the Nintendo DS.
Killzone: Liberation – October 31st, 2006
Killzone: Liberation follows the events of the first Killzone game for the PS2. It will feature a third person camera and realistic graphics. The biggest addition will likely be the inclusion of online modes as well as offline.
Lemmings – May 2006
By the creators of Worms, comes this the newest edition of Lemmings. The game will feature the same classic gameplay we’ve all grown to love on over 150 different levels, including PSP-exclusive ones. A level editor will also be included so that you can create your own levels and then share them by sending them wirelessly to your friends.
Loco Roco – September 2006
One of the most anticipated titles for the PSP, Loco Roco is the flagship title Sony is using to prove that they can match the innovation and variety found on the Nintendo DS. Utilizing only the L and R button, you are asked to tilt and bump the 2D landscape to guide your Loco Roco to safety. The game will have over 40 levels, 6 distinct Loco Rocos, a “LocoHouse”, 3 minigames, and wireless features.
NBA ’07 – October 2006
The newest addition in the NBA series, NBA ’07, has new minigames, a conquest mode, and the same gameplay that fans are used to.
Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters – First Quarter 2007
Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters brings the series back to its roots after Ratchet: Deadlocked. The game will give Clank a more prominent role than in the past and include 4 player wireless multiplayer.
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 – Fall 2006
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 will allow you to command troops through a new non-linear story mode with over 40 weapons and large, varied maps. You will also be able to earn ratings to use towards buying new weapons. The multiplayer mode is back offering up to 16 players to play at once in either offline or online wireless modes. Maps from SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo as well as new maps made exclusive for the new game will be available for multiplayer.
World Tour Soccer ’06 – June 2006
The PSP version of World Tour Soccer ’06 has been specially made to be a handheld title. New game modes let you quickly set up matches with the over 32 countries participating in Germany this year. Wireless multiplayer is included for up to four players offline, including game sharing so you can play with only one UMD between the four systems.
Sony will also be showing ATV: Offroad Fury 4, God of War II, NBA ’07, Rogue Galaxy, and SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault for the PS2.
