Sony to sport seamless peer-to-peer networking?
Two little birds sat on a branch right outside our window and “tweeted” a little song that mentioned Sony has developed a robust and seamless peer-to-peer file-sharing network for movies. It appears that the p2p platform will also be integrated into Sony’s PlayStation Home, which just entered its closed Beta trial on May 1.
The platform was said to be “seamless” because it only involves downloading the video, and the video automatically plays. If we put two-and-two together, that would definitely jive with what Sony said about content sharing. It does, however, seem to gray the borderline for Sony’s vision of content control.
Sony has yet to make an official announcement to make or break this rumor, but we’ll be keeping tabs on more developments on this new feature of PlayStation Home. Oh, and those two little birds we said earlier…they were KillerAJD and Justin. Thanks a bunch guys!
