The profits that the Sony games division made were attributed to the lowered PS3’s production costs and increased software and PSP sales.

The increase in income has prompted Sony to bump up their sales prediction for the PSP from 10 million to 13 million. Finally, it was also revealed that the company will not be making the 11 million sales target it set for the PlayStation. The company is now hoping to sell 9.5 million units.
