Sony’s Lonely as Microsoft Capitalizes on PS3 Shortage
A lot of people aren’t happy with Sony right now. You certainly weren’t happy when we broke the news to you. Sony UK‘s head was “extremely disappointed” with it. Pretty much every fan of the PS3 to date felt bad about the whole thing.
Of course, since this is bad news for Sony, this was pretty much good news for Microsoft and Nintendo, who managed to take their own little shots at Sony after the news hit. Sheesh… as if Steve Irwin’s death wasn’t a bad enough event for a week. Well, there’s more news before the week ends and, sadly, this is another story of a lonely, down-on-his-luck fellow facing adversity.
Simply put, Microsoft is going to lower its price in Japan to take advantage of the delays and shortages and other bad news coming Sony’s way. The Core Pack will be priced at 29,800 yen (around $255) when it relaunches on November 2. Now, while this does sound like good news for Microsoft, Nintendo’s Wii will be priced lower, so it may just be a toss-up between the two. Hopefully Sony will make its way back into gamers’ hearts and get some sweet, sweet monetary loving when it gets released.
And no… we won’t be posting lyrics of Ricky Martin’s Nobody Wants to Be Lonely for this post. Sorry.
