Sony’s PS3 gets a tune-up, via tuners
Sony want’s consumers to tune, err, turn their heads towards PS3.
In a perceived move to continually ride with the popularity of Unreal Engine 3, Sony, thru SN Systems (a subsidiary), has developed a “Tuner” for their next-generation console PlayStation 3. The said project, was created to “enable developers to quickly highlight bottlenecks and conflicts in source code, helping them to improve code performance.”
Although SN Systems actually produces development kits and software tools for Nintendo products too, they made their creation available only to all registered PlayStation 3 developers, sparking thoughts that the development was geared towards Sony’s goal to streamline the ambitious projects for their own consoles.
