Sony’s PSP Video Recorder

The most prominent video recorder for the PSP has been the Neuros MPEG 4 Recorder for quite some time, but now it looks as if there’s a new guy in the market. Sony is coming out with a video recorder that only works by directly recording to the PSP’s memory stick. The video is encoded directly in 320×240 resolution, which will give roughly two and a half to four hours of video depending on the chosen compression methods. The device is said to cost no more than 180 EUR (about $214 USD), which is a lot more expensive than Neuros’s alternative solution. Considering how less versatile it is also doesn’t make it too appealing. The only way I could see this thing selling well would be if it delivered UMD-quality video, otherwise it just seems like a waste of money.
