Speedball 2 dribbles back into the court this summer
German game developer studio Frogster Interactive is to revive the classic PC title Speedball 2. Originally released during 1990, the game pits the gamer in an intense sci-fi sport that brings in melee combat into the hard court. This remake of the action-sports game promises to “transform the futuristic game setting with the help of state-of-the-art technology into a high-speed online sports spectacle.”
Frogster has revealed that this game will have large-scale ranking systems online, a virtual marketplace, and multi-national leagues. Your own athlete would be fully customizable: whether you want a cyborg or human gladiator. Sci-fi sports simulation, eh? Time to get the ball rolling. The game comes out summer of this year.
