Speeder for PSP

speeder

If you like shooter games (or tinkering with one that has already been coded), you might want to check out Speeder. According to gibbocool, this is a fairly simple scrolling shooter where you fly through space and dodge asteroids. The game keeps the high score for each difficulty level. The file that you can download here comes with the source code as well.

Speaking of source codes, gibbocool admits that his code is a bit inefficient as he’s experimenting. Using his own logic, he tries and looks up the code for what he wants, and there are indeed some loopholes in his own. For example, he used a lot of unnecessary brackets and braces and didn’t put his high scores in one text file. Another PSP developer, Insomniac, advised him to use ‘fprintf’ to write and ‘fgets’ to read. Those of you who’ve had similar problems with source codes may benefit from this.

The great thing about homebrew is that anyone can mess around with codes and come up with something cool, and has the option of continuing to improve it. If you have ideas, you can always check out our QJ forum and inspire other PSP homebrewers to share their stuff as well.
