Spider-Man 3: Games get the film’s voice cast

Spider-Man 3 - Image 1With the much awaited Spider-Man 3 movie swinging into theaters this May 4, fans will also be looking forward to the parallel release of the movie’s game versions. In line with the movie’s imminent release, Activision has stepped to state that the games will offer more than just an interactive adaptation of the film.

“The movie story line is only one of 10 story lines we have in the game,” said Activision’s global brand management VP Rob Kostich. It will be remembered that Activision’s Chris Archer made a similar statement, along with details on the dev team’s major revisions to the game to ensure it carried the movie’s cinematic experience.

Another detail mentioned was the game’s use of the movie’s original voice cast. “Having the actors in the game adds to the authenticity of the experience and really brings it to life,” said Kostich, further detailing that the movie’s cast lent their voice roles for the game shortly after the movie’s filming schedule concluded.

Aside from Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man/Peter Parker), other voice talents expected to be heard in the games are James Franco (Harry Osborn/New Goblin), Topher Grace (Eddie Brock/Venom), Thomas Haden Church (Flint Marco/Sandman), J.K. Simmons (J. Jonah Jameson), and Bruce Campbell (narrator).

The game version of Spider-Man 3 is expected to launch on multiple platforms: the PlayStation 3 (PS3), the Xbox 360, the Wii, the PlayStation 2 (PS2), the PC, the PlayStation Portable (PSP), the Nintendo DS and the Game Boy Advance (GBA).
