Spirits DS Beta 7 – includes .mp3 format bgms

If you ask me, there just doesn’t seem to be enough dungeon crawling homebrew platformers on the Nintendo DS. Fortunately, developer NightFox is working on a homebrew game which fits perfectly into that category with Spirits DS. The latest beta release now includes a function which allows it to play the mp3 background music files included with the game. Check out the other details in the full article after the jump!

You’ve got to hand it to those developers who are still working hard to release their homebrew apps and games up until the end of the year. In particular, NightFox has come up with the latest beta 7 version of the dungeon crawling homebrew platformer Spirits DS for the Nintendo DS.

This latest build finally features a working function which allows you to play the mp3 background music included with the game. The developer mentions using PALib to enable the use of ASLib for the sounds.

Also, Spirits DS Beta 7 writes any save games to the default folder where it’s installed instead of using up the SRAM of the DS.

If you’re interested in downloading this game, make sure to patch Spirits DS with Chishm’s DLDI patcher depending on what device you’re using to run your homebrew on. In any case, enjoy the download!
