After expressing its interest in taking the Drawn to Life franchise further since it performed well on the Nintendo DS in its first iteration, THQ has revealed that there will indeed be another drawing game. This time, THQ grabbed the license of a popular Nickelodeon character to develop SpongeBob SquarePants Drawn To Life.

THQ Assistant Project Manager Evan Icenbice shared a lot of exciting things about the upcoming Stylus-heavy game, and did not fail to mention that SpongeBob SquarePants Drawn To Life will involve a lot of drawing. He was quoted saying:

Everyone loved the drawing aspect in the first game, so we wanted to make sure there is as much or more drawing for the player to do in the new game. We also added new twists to the gameplay with roller coaster levels, chase levels where players will need to outrun a giant eraser, and slingshots that use the DS stylus to shoot the character around the level. We want every level to give players something different to do.

Developer Altron signed up to bring SpongeBob SquarePants Drawn To Life to life while letting players add spice to its world by giving them the power to draw their own characters, objects, and even re-draw enemies to turn them into friends.

There will also be a two-player mode which will put your drawing skills to the test, but Icenbice didn’t reveal further details. He did, however, provide screenshots and you can find them above.
