‘Spunk’ too funky a name for ESRB in Overlord II
Goodbye, Spunk. Apparently, the ESRB is very picky not only with how many fingers have been chewed off by zombies, but also by the name given the video game characters. “Spunk” would have been a nice addition to the character’s list in Overlord II had the ratings board not deemed it inappropriate.

This was revealed by Triumph Studios director, Lennart Sas, at a special event celebrating the upcoming launch of the said title. According to him, one of the little minion’s name was “Spunk”. ESRB got a whiff of it and crumpled their face in dislike. And since they were going for the Teen rating, they had to christen him with another name, which we’re fairly sure is not as nasty and does not give you flashbacks of images of bodily fluids.
Rhianna Pratchett, writer of the game story, also divulged that a couple other names were also rejected such as Postule, Pus and Flange.
