Square Enix: 360 development won’t compromise Final Fantasy XIII for PS3
Square Enix has had to reassure gamers time and time again that neither the PS3 nor the Xbox 360 version of the game will suffer due to limitations set by the other. One of the major contentions that keep coming up is storage space, and recently producer Yoshinori Kitase once again addressed this concern.
Square Enix has had to reassure gamers time and time again that neither the PS3 nor the Xbox 360 version of the game will suffer due to limitations set by the other. One of the major contentions that keep coming up is storage space, and recently producer Yoshinori Kitase once again addressed this concern.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com, Kitase said that there will be “no limitations” on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. He also reiterated that storage is really a non-issue and that the dev team behind Final Fantasy XIII is committed to delivering uncompromised versions of the game to both consoles:
The team is targeting to create an equal experience on both the 360 and the PS3, so there are no limitations. For example, right now weÂ’re working on the PS3 version first, and once weÂ’ve completed that weÂ’ll really know how much game there will be to fit onto the Xbox 360 discs.
So we donÂ’t know how many discs itÂ’ll be housed on for 360, but there wonÂ’t be a chance that weÂ’ll compromise anything because, oh it didnÂ’t fit in the 360 discs so weÂ’ll have to take it out of the PS3 version, or vice versa.
I believe you, Square Enix. Now just hurry up and release the game so I can have my Lightning fix. Even a demo is fine.
Final Fantasy XIII is slated for release in the US sometime in the future, hopefully by next year. A Winter 2009 release is being targeted in Japan.
