Square Enix explains Crisis Core’s DIGITAL Mind Wave

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Zack - Image 1We know you’re kind of tired with all the semi-off topic posts regarding Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, so here’s a real update: Square Enix revealed that the game will have a unique combat system known as DIGITAL Mind Wave.

Accordingly, this new system hasn’t been used in any past installments of the series. To give you an idea how DIGITAL Mind Wave works, it’s been said that the system will focus on the memories of Zack. There will be images appearing on the left side of the PSP’s screen which represent different characters such as Cloud and other members of Shinra.

Zack will be able to use the techniques unique to the character when the figures and images of the reels are the same. It’s kind of hard to understand now but we’re pretty sure that it’s going to be good once the game is in our hands. Square Enix also mentioned that Rude and Reno alongside other members of the Turks will make an appearance as well.

Crisis Core has been under development since 2004. It is expected to be released in Japan sometime this spring.
