Square Enix: No PS3 games till April 2008

We reported in an earlier post that Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XIII will not be released this year; it turns out that company is not planning to release any PS3 games in this fiscal year altogether.

Japanese broadsheet “Nihon Keizai Shimbun” reported that Square Enix will not release any PS3 game till April 1, 2008. Assuming that April 1, 2008 will be the Japanese release date of Final Fantasy XIII, the news may mean that the North American version will turn up sometime in 2009, considering the possibly lengthy localization process. However, there’s an off-chance that Square Enix will release both versions at nearly the same time, like what Konami is going to do with Metal Gear Solid 4.
