There’s probably no stopping Square Enix after it unleashed Dragon Quest Swords as one of the most successful third-party titles on the Nintendo Wii last year. Aside from bringing a grand Chocobo adventure to the white hot console, Famitsu revealed that Squeenix will bring forth Soul Eater: Monotone Princess based on the popular manga series.

Akin to its previous Wii offerings, it seems Soul Eater: Monotone Princess is going to be an action RPG. Early screenshots of the game almost remind us of Kingdom Hearts, but with the original manga’s art style.

No release date was mentioned, though it won’t come as a surprise if Soul Eater: Monotone Princess hits Japan’s shelves in a few months. The first episode of Soul Eater’s anime adaptation aired just a few days ago, and the game appearing in retail as a timely tie-in sounds likely.
